PRE-HABILITATION

Pre-habilitation is a relatively new term for patients but has been used in the medical world of years. This multifaceted approach to health, fitness and well-being is gaining mainstream popularity. There are two approaches to pre-habilitation:

 

Medical – A strategy built by your doctor and physical therapists to prepare for surgery or upcoming major medical events.

 

General Health – At its core, the goal is increased functional capacity aimed to decrease deteriorating health changes and build resiliency.

 

Optimum Human Dynamics primary focus centers around the general health approach. Our pre-habilitation service prepares the body for everyday activities while moving your fitness capacity to the next level. We have helped patients overcome medical setbacks, return to working out, build stronger bodies and increase flexibility – all while learning about the human body!

  

With traditional fitness programs, lifting more weight determines how successful you are. Our pre-habilitation program is built to get you moving by redefining how your body functions. This is not a bulking up; it's about reaching your Optimum Human Dynamic performance by increasing your overall functional capacity.

How it works

Whether you are new to building strength, returning from a long period of inactivity or a gym guru here's what to expect:
 

  1. Book - Complete a consultation with Dr. McGilberry

  2. Assess - Your first session will be a fitness assessment - this helps us set a baseline and we monitor your progress during the program using data from each session

  3. Join - Sign up for one or more of our eight-week sessions 

  4. Build - Dr. McGilberry will use data from the assessment to create a program tailored to your goals

  5. Track - During the program you may feel like you don't see "gains" which is a natural assessment. Many of our patients start out and can only do one push-up, but weeks later are able to crank out 20 or more. We track these metrics during each session in order to monitor your transformation

  6. Celebrate - We all have preconceived thoughts about our health and our bodies. We promise you'll realize you are a lot stronger than you think and we'll celebrate right along with you

Physician Supervised Program
Your goals, health, limitations and strength will be monitored during each session. Dr. McGilberry is right by your side during each time you step in the gym.

Customized Fitness Plan
The focus is on you, your goals and the endless possibilities. Your body was built to move and we'll work with you to build a plan tailored to you - no detail is too small.

Learning Opportunities 
This ancillary opportunity is there for those that really want to understand the human body and its function. Your 1x1 time spent with Dr. McGilberry means you have access to all of his insights and medical expertise.

Chiropractic Adjustments
Improvement of spinal motion and your body’s physical function is included in your plan as well as other in-office services like stretching, tapping, E-Stim and more.
